I grew up in Colombia waking up every morning with the powerful smell of fresh coffee, hot chocolate and delicious arepas (corn cake) I remember when my grandmother smile and whistle while she was using the corn grinding machine before preparing the arepas. The best part was to see her making the best arepas ever with her gentle hands; every morning I run to kitchen to dance in fronrt of her "my happy dance", while waiting for her first arepa with hot chocolate.
Indeed she still is my biggest inspiration, she cooked with love for her family, which is something that I grew up with. The compassion of caring about who you are cooking for tied in with my roots as a farmer’s daughter of Mother Earth.
I am also inspired to prepare meals with lots of love and compassion with all the abundance of fresh herbs, fruits, nuts, vegetables and creating new international recipes with a Latin twist.
